  1. Children’s day is celebrated on 14 November every year in India.
  2. We celebrate children’s day on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru.
  3. Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
  4. Children fondly refer Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as ‘chacha Nehru’.
  5. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had great love and affection for children.
  6. Also, on this day some students wear clothes like Nehru ji and put a rose on their coats.
  7. On this day, the schools organize many programs.
  8. Generally, children participate in various competitions like dance, music, painting, singing, debate and storytelling etc.
  9. The main purpose behind Children’s day is to spread awareness about child rights, child care and child education in the country.
  10. Moreover, there is distribution of prizes and sweets among students on this day.
